Installing your Certificate on Novell I-Chain

Below we show you step by step how to install a certificate on Novell iChain. In this example we use the certificate name "portal".

Step 1

Similar files come back from Networking4all.

Now we must convert the certificate from my portal to PKSC # 7 format.

Double-click on the file and select “Install Certificate

Now you can select the standards. This will be “Next > Next > Finish

Then we get the message that the import was successful.

We do this for the other CA files as well, for all cer files.

Step 2

Start Internet Explorer. Select “Tools > Internet Options > Content tab”. Here you see the Certificates button.

Go to the tab “Other People

Select the correct Certificate “portal...”.

Select “Export

Press “Next”in the Wizard. Then again select “Next”. And then we have to give a file name.

This is the name of the domain where the certificate is intended, followed by .p7b
We need this file to install the certificate.

Step 3

Import the certificate in ConsoleOne.
Make sure you are logged in at ICS-TREE as ichainadmin and start ConsoleOne.

Ask for the properties of the certificate what we have created first.

Select the tab “Certificates” and make sure the Public Key Certificate is selected.

Select the button “Import.”

Select “No Root” followed by “Next”.

Select “Read from File” and locate the .p7b file.

Then select “Finish”.

These steps ensure that we do not need to reboot the iChain.

Select "Store Certificate".

Step 4

You need to open the files below with Notepad and paste the contents of the file in the appropriate box.
The images are only to indicate where the files should be pasted.

Make sure “Include Intermediate certificate” is checked.

Select “Create”.

Now we have to select “Apply” in the basic interface of iChain.

Then we need to select the appropriate certificate on the accelerator. Open the accelerator for the website. The certificate is now available in the 'Certificate' drop down menu in the 'Secure Exchange' section. Select the new certificate, click “OK” and then click “Apply”.

When you refresh the Management display the website will be secured with the new certificate.
